This weekend was right on par with the recent theme of Midwest travel and stellar foods happening around here. Not taking a single second for granted, this weekend was chock-full of laughs, travel and…. karaoke. After a night of celebrating our improv troupe’s first show at The Second City, Alex and I grabbed a bite to eat at The Nosh, stopped spontaneously at Scylla and headed to Milwaukee.

Having not been to Milwaukee in quite some time, I gathered suggestions from coworkers, family members and friends ensuring the 24 hours in Sconnie land would not go to waste. A trip to Elsa’s (the. best. burger.) Cafe Benelux, (brunch for days) Milwaukee Public Market (so many yums) and Clock Shadow Creamery (whiskey ice cream) later, we were stuffed to the brim and could not eat any more.

Since the whole reason we were in town was for the Little Green Cars concert, we sauntered over to Turner Hall Ballroom and enjoyed three solid hours of Irish accents. No complaints here! Plus, who doesn’t love a show that ends in the band coming on the floor for a stripped encore?
