20 Things in 2014

This was a crazy year full of crazy memories. One of the craziest things is this blogged turned 3 years old! Holy bananas. So we’re kicking off the annual “20 Things” post and reviewing all the nonsense over the past 365 days as told by social media (minus the 2014 Challenge, because how many round-ups can one girl do?). New twist! This year, I’m splitting the list in half for the top 10 everyday moments and top 10 comedy experiences.

Top Ten Moments of 2014

  1. Traveled the good ole US of A (& its territories) like a maniac – from California (San Diego, Los Angeles, Newport Beach) to Puerto Rico to Minnesota (Minneapolis) to Wisconsin (Washington Island).
  2. Speaking of traveling, I also stayed local and camped all over Illinois and Wisconsin… And Illinois again.
  3. I met two of my best friends’ children. Sweet Audrey Ryan and handsome Grayson Alaric.
  4. Had some celebrity run-ins and swooned like an idiot. Including meeting Grace Helbig and Judah Friedlander, seeing Lena Dunham and Josh Meyers and tweeting with Sarah Colonna.
  5. Celebrated two years at PCI, LinkedIn started a rumor I got a new job, then 3 months later, I got a new job.
  6. Learned about a ton of new animals including vaquitas, sea salps, Blainville’s beaked whale, jerboas, quolls and raccoon dogs.
  7. I let my friend give me a tattoo. Yes, it’s permanent.
  8. Succeeded.
  9. Failed.
  10. Concerts! Lord Huron, Robyn and a seemingly infinite number of bands at Lollapalooza.

Top Ten Comedy Moments of 2014

  1. I began auditioning.
  2. I booked my first Coached Ensemble
  3. … And my second Coached Ensemble.
  4. Graduated Second City’s A-E program.
  5. Made it into Second City’s Conservatory program.
  6. Began taking classes at iO.
  7. Performed in an improvised kids show.
  8. Wrote and performed in my first sketch show and also my first web sketch.
  9. Began writing for a political satire web series called Bad News.
  10. Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and George Wendt sent videos for our sketch show .

Here’s to an even better 2015! I’ve already booked a trip to Arizona, set some comedy goals and began lots of writing projects. Cheers!
